Wacky Wednesday Weekly Weavers Call by Caryn MacGrandle

My daughter used to love Dr. Seuss’s book Wacky Wednesday.  The premise of the book is that you are supposed to find the things that are off in the picture:  an upside down picture, a tiger instead of a baby in the stroller and steps leading up to a house with no door.

My daughter was always so excited to find these anomalies: giggling and pointing them out.

‘See, the world makes sense!  But this doesn’t.  And this doesn’t either.’

I personally never cared for the book.  I rated it right up there with attempting to put together complicated Lego spaceships for my sons, an activity I was ill suited for.

The other day I was absentmindedly driving to pick up my daughter from a friend’s house.  I turned into her neighborhood and then made another turn.

‘Wait,’ I thought to myself.  ‘Nothing looks familiar.’

And I got a jolt of anxiety.

‘Where am I?’

Logically I knew where I was.  I had turned one neighborhood too soon, and everything I expected, was not there.

I thought that is what is happening in the world: what people had come to expect is no longer there.

The world has become wacky.

And it’s unsettling.

But this is something I am suited for.

I’m okay with one picture being upside down.  I’m okay with the door not being quite where you thought it should be.  Or taking your pet tiger for a walk.

I’ve realized that is most likely why I am doing better in these times than a lot of people.

These times require the continual questioning of ‘okay, why not’?  And oftentimes asking myself how can I flip my perspective.

I’ve started Weekly Wednesday Weavers calls.  They are an hour long call set in an informal Circle.

As the creator of the divine feminine app, I have the honor of seeing what different organizations and women are doing.

And I’ve been frustrated.

I’ve been frustrated as I watch all of us off individually recreating the wheel.  It has occurred to me often how much more we could do if we all came together.

I have no idea how to do that, but the calls are an attempt to find out.

The other day in meditation, I flipped my frustration.

How freaking wonderful it is that we’re all off creating webinars and courses and Goddess congregations and Circles and writing books.

How freaking wonderful it is that so many of us are off doing our own thing which also happens to be the same thing.

But with our own flavor: our own calling being honored.

No one needs to be in charge.  This doesn’t have to be coordinated.

Because She will coordinate it.

She is coordinating it.

I’m going to go hang one of my pictures upside down.
